It is hard to believe that November is upon us! It’s even harder to believe that in one month we will begin Advent, and that means Christmas is right around the corner! Wow! This month is a very busy month for us here at Christ with all the mission and ministry we have going on. I want to highlight some of those or you and I would like to ask that you prayerfully consider serving in some way. You are Christ Lutheran Church! We cannot do what we do without you. You are needed here, and we are blessed by you!
November 3rd will be our celebration of All Saints’ Sunday. If you can come to church early that day to help prepare the sanctuary that will be awesome. This year we are trying something new as helium is not readily available to us. You will be writing the names of your loved ones on stained glass windows around the sanctuary! If you arrive late, not to worry! We have you covered. We will have some windows for you in the back! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
In November, we will be working with the Tarrant County Sherriff’s Office, The D. A’s office, and the Chisholm Trail Crime Prevention Association to host our basketball tournament, “Post Up for Unity” once again! This will be November 2 at 8 am. Free lunch will be provided by all and catered by In and Out! Your task is really simple, just show up and be the presence of Jesus. You are Christ Lutheran church and the best part of it!
Don’t forget our Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service at 7 pm. As we did last year, bring your favorite holiday pie and after worship, we will have a pie social! It is a blast, and not to mention, yummy too! Also, remember to bring your basket of blessings. Bring a basket, bag, or box filled with items you are thankful for, pictures of your family, or any special items and we will be praying a special blessing over them and thanking God for His fruits of harvest in our lives!
Once again, I want to thank Scott and El, and all who helped with our pumpkin patch! You are a blessing! Your work for the Lord brings bounteous fruit! Also, many thanks to Ernie and Renee and all who helped with Trunk or Treat. By intentionally putting ourselves in contact with our community we are sharing Jesus. Praise God for you all!
Please don’t forget that we are back in our study of Luke in Sunday morning Bible Study! It is a fun study and we miss you. Please, feel free to join us. We’d love to have you. Plus, it’s all the donuts you can eat. Now that’s a deal!
November 10th, there will be a Voter’s meeting. Please plan to attend! We need you there.
Also, on November 10th, we will be welcoming new families into our Christ family. Praise God or that! What an exciting day indeed! Come and welcome our new members!
Remember to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday, November 2! We can all use that extra hour of sleep!
Ladies, if you are available, please join us on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 for Bible study! It is a real blast as we are working together through the book of James. I hope to see you there!
Once again, thank you to each and every one of you who have personally been supporting me with your gifts for my education. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this and how very helpful it is. Thank you!
As always, I want to thank you for all you do. You are a gift from God to me. I love and cherish you all and praise Him for our wonderful congregation.
In the shadow of the cross,
