Our services are uniquely Lutheran, using an ancient liturgical structure blended with both contemporary music and traditional hymns. Below is an outline of our worship structure.

Welcome

The service is about to start! Announcements will usually be shared at this point also, so make sure you’re in your seat and ready to go.

Opening Song

Either a traditional hymn or a contemporary song, usually as an introduction to the worship service. Lyrics will be displayed on the screens. For those who read music, hymnals are available to follow along.

Invocation, Confession, and Absolution

The Invocation is how we begin worship, by calling on God in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is followed by a responsive liturgy, either spoken or sung, in which we confess our sins and receive forgiveness (absolution). All words will be given on the screens for easy participation.

Old Testament Lesson

We follow the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Lectionary. For each Sunday, three readings are given that tie into the season of the church year; one from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament, and one from the Gospels.

New Testament Lesson

We follow the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Lectionary. For each Sunday, three readings are given that tie into the season of the church year; one from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament, and one from the Gospels.

Children's Chat

A member of our ministry team gathers the children in attendance up front for a brief, age-appropriate teaching tied to the scriptures and message of the day.

Gospel Lesson

We follow the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Lectionary. For each Sunday, three readings are given that tie into the season of the church year; one from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament, and one from the Gospels.

Creed

Every Sunday we speak together the words of either the Apostles’ or the Nicene Creed. These are two of the three statements of faith that are used by Christians throughout the world and for many centuries.

Message Song

Either a traditional hymn or a contemporary song, generally tied to the message for the day. Lyrics will be displayed on the screens.

Message

A sermon will be delivered by one of our ministers, bringing both a reminder of our need for a Savior and the beautiful news that we already have one in Jesus.

Prayers

Our prayers as a congregation are led by one of the ministers, with congregational responses after each petition. The response is given on the screens for easy participation. Our prayers always end with the Lord’s Prayer, which is used by Christians throughout the world and for many centuries.

The Lord's Supper

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper, also called Holy Communion, every week. We ask that you please read through our communion statement before approaching the altar. During this portion of the worship service, hymns and contemporary songs will be sung by the congregation. The Lord’s Supper begins and ends with a responsive liturgy.

Sending

A final spoken responsive piece closes our service each week, and ends with a special blessing.

Closing song

Either a traditional hymn or a contemporary song, tied to the theme of the day or as a finale to the service. Lyrics will be displayed on the screens. Once the song is done, there is a moment for silent prayer. Then music will begin again as a signal to get up and head for the door. Our worship leader will greet you as you exit, and you are invited to stay for coffee and donuts afterwards!
